We're glad to be your first! Besides the obvious, that we're two women getting married to each other, you'll notice on the day that the aisles will not be split into sides for each family, and our bridal parties contain a mix of friends/family members of all genders. The only other big difference to our wedding is that EVERYONE in attendance is full of radical love and acceptance, and is supportive of our (and any other) same-sex marriage. We recognize that loving us individually is not the same as loving our love. If that's the case for you, we encourage you to send your congrats virtually. Thank you in advance for helping us create an inclusive and celebratory environment!
Mechanics’ Hall doesn’t have a dedicated parking lot or garage. However, there is plenty of street parking available around the venue, as well as multiple garages within walking distance. We recommend parking at the Monument Square garage, which charges just $5/hour and is a 4 minute walk down Congress Street from Mechanics’ Hall. Also, carpool if you can!
We’re trying to keep our wedding very small and intimate, with only people close to us invited. Sorry! If their name isn’t on the invite, we won’t have space for them. Please contact either of us with any specific questions.
We would love it if folks dressed in autumn colors. Think of rusty oranges, browns, dark greens, and even sky blues. Black is also a safe bet. Formal wear is encouraged. Please avoid white!
Portland has lots to offer in terms of hotels for all budgets. The Hilton Garden Inn Downtown Waterfront is an affordable option within walking distance of the venue. We also love the Press Hotel for special occasions.
