Our wedding Mass will be in a Catholic church, so we kindly ask that everyone please dress modestly and reverently, as we believe Our Lord is truly present in the church with us. Per our church’s request, here are some more specific guidelines for attire! Ladies: Shorts, tank tops, low-cut, backless and mini dresses, tight fitting clothing, etc, do not meet the norm of Christian modesty. No gaping or plunging necklines, please. Shoulders and knees must be covered in the church. There will be shawls at the back of the church if your chosen attire does not meet these standards. Gentlemen: We also ask that you dress respectfully, in a button down and dress slacks. No tight/ripped pants or jeans please. No hats are to be worn in the church.
Please do not take photos or videos during the wedding Mass. We will have a professional photographer and will make those photos available to y'all after the big day! If you take any photos before or after the Mass or during the reception, please use our hashtag #dontworrybehumphrey for posts on Instagram, and tag Eleanor Toner on Facebook. :)
We will have programs available as you walk in the church - these will walk you through each part of the wedding Mass and explain the details of what is happening on the altar. We would love for you to follow along and join us in worshipping Jesus together! Please note that unless you are a practicing Catholic in the state of grace, you are not permitted to receive the Eucharist. Receiving Our Lord in the Eucharist indicates that you believe He is Truly Present in the Host and that you believe and live out all the teachings of the Catholic Church. If that is not the case, you must refrain; simply remain in your seat during the distribution of Holy Communion.
We would be so thrilled if y’all brought your kiddos to celebrate with us! They are such a beautiful witness to the joy of this Sacrament! Our venue has a playset outdoors and private rooms upstairs if needed for little ones. There is ample outdoor space for kids to run and play, and we’ll also have yard games. Feel free to bring toys or games if that’s what your kiddos like! However, the venue is close to a road and a lake, so we ask that you be responsible for your kids and keep a close eye on them, both inside the venue and out.
Alcohol will be served during the entirety of the reception. Please act respectably and remember that drinking in excess is not aligned with Christian virtue.
