Lake Merritt
Explore the Lakeshore and Grand Lake neighborhoods of Oakland and take a stroll around the lake. The loop is around 3 flat miles, and there's great people watching. Or you can just lounge on the grassy banks.
Golden Gate Bridge
Touristy, but very fun! Walk or bike across the famous gateway to the bay. There are beautiful hikes and vistas on both sides.
Southie
Great sandwiches for lunch, and Rockridge is a fun neighborhood to explore.

A Berkeley classic. Check the website to see their daily pizza, and sit in the median of Shattuck Avenue for the full experience.
Alcatraz Island
Take a ferry out to one of the most fascinating historical sites in San Francisco. Don't miss the audio tour, it's fantastic.
