This is where we got engaged! A relatively easy set of hiking trails in San Diego overlooking the Pacific Ocean. Great if you would like to spend some time outdoors. Fortified by 300-foot sea cliffs, a nature walk along the bluffs through native vegetation—including the signature Torrey Pine—leads to endless views of the Pacific.
Previously a Naval Training Center that has since been transformed into a collection of shops and restaurants that forms a center for commerce, history, and arts. This spot is one of our favorites! Our first apartment together was across the street and we regularly visited to eat or bring our dog Kona to play in the surrounding fields. Liberty Public Market has a ton of food and drink options with upscale restaurants, breweries, and shops nearby.
The Pacific Beach area is where we first met, had our first date and fell in love! February isn't necessarily beach season but that means it won't be too busy if you're in the mood for some ocean air. In addition to PB, other good options include; La Jolla Shores/Cove (further north) or the beaches in Carlsbad (directly west from our venue/hotels).
Little Italy's farmers' market in downtown San Diego occurs every Wednesday and Saturday, with local vendors and artisans selling all types of goods. The outdoor market environment is so fun for walking around, shopping, eating and experiencing the local culture.
Temecula Valley – Southern California Wine Country
Wide sandy beaches, sea cliffs, rocky reefs and secluded coves - It's all here La Jolla Cove is a small deep water bay, flanked by sea caves accessible to adventurers in kayaks and on foot, depending on the tides. La Jolla Shores is a mile-long crescent of prime sand beach favored by active beachgoers of all interests.
The Carlsbad Village has it all - dining, shopping, farmers market and more, all nestled against views of the Pacific Ocean
