Grandma's Matchmaking: A Year in the Making
A slightly unexpected title for a wedding website, we know, but if it weren’t for Grandma Janelle Pickering gently (and persistently) nudging us to meet, this wedding wouldn’t be happening.
Jacob and Elli grew up just 30 minutes apart and somehow managed to miss each other through every season of life. It wasn’t until both of them moved back to Iowa that the timing finally aligned. Jacob returned home after serving in the Army and Elli came back after traveling across the country.
That’s when Grandma Pick decided to take matters into her own hands.
Over the next year of gentle persistence (and a lot of love), Elli agreed to meet her grandson. What began as a blind date, tucked into a Panera booth, turned into long conversations, easy laughter, and the start of something neither of them saw coming. Grandma, of course, knew all along.
