We're getting Married!

They were together for the weekend, spending time and running errands together. Hmm... maybe a little bit of backstory first! For those close to Payton and Elliana, you all know that it wasn't a surprise that they were getting married, rather the surprise would be when. About 2 months previous Elliana and Payton had designed and picked out a ring together. Elliana, being very curious was always asking about when it was going to happen and dropping little hints here and there. Now that weekend, Elliana was under the impression, that Payton did not have the ring and they were still making it. Payton earlier had mentioned that he wanted to go on a walk with Elliana. They decided to go to Rock Cut (a state park nearby) and go hiking. This was something that they did quite frequently. They even went on their first date (after getting to know each other) hiking at the park. Elliana suspected nothing. Payton drove around the park and found a good trail to start on. Once they started down the trail, Elliana noticed that it was the first place they went hiking way back on that first date. This was the first time they had been back to that spot since the first date. Once they got down to the bottom of the trail, a spot that overlooked the lake, Payton said they should take a picture. He got the camera ready, telling Elliana he was starting the countdown. Elliana waited for the picture to be taken and after a moment it seemed like it wasn't working. She started to take a step toward the camera but felt a tug and looked down and saw Payton on his knee proposing. All she could say at that first moment was that she didn't know and that it was a surprise. She hugged Payton and whispered yes while he put the ring on her finger. And that was the very beginning of their engagement.
