Bri, a midwest girl with a deep love for fairy tales and a dream for finding her one and only prince Charming. Josh, a California boy with a creative mind and a hopeless romantic at heart. With thousands of miles separating them, no one could have guessed their stories would align. With just one swipe and a simple greeting the impossible became possible. Over time the distance has shortened, the love has grown, and the adventure continues. Her perspective: I had tried my hand at online dating for a while with very little luck. It was an exhausting process and I was one more person away from calling it quits and accepting that maybe becoming a single cat lady wouldn’t be so bad. With just one more swipe, everything changed. I came across Josh’s profile on United Young and was instantly drawn to him. What little I gathered he seemed gentle, sweet, invested in his faith, and my goodness was he attractive! I gathered all the courage I had left and sent him a simple “hey Joshua, how are you?” - those 5 little words opened the door to a beautiful love story. We have talked every day since. 3 months later we met in person for the first time at a restaurant called Jonathan’s in Mt. Juliet, TN. Our parents had joined us as well and I remember them sitting down at the table while I waited by the door to meet Josh. My stomach did a million backflips as I watched him open the door. All these months of messaging and here he was - so real and so close. I knew in that moment he was it for me. Our story has been far from easy. From tearful airport send offs doing long distance, to big moves, to balancing the chaos of school/work. I would not change one moment of our story. In Josh I found my best friend, a source of unconditional love, an anchor in the storm, and a fierce loyalty. It is true that “Soulmates aren’t found they’re made”. We know that love is far more than a feeling and have committed to growing, learning, and putting love into action. He has been my easiest yes. I look forward to having a lifetime of being made through the good and the bad. Here’s to becoming Mrs. Kinder! His perspective: Stepping off a plane in Nashville on a cold November afternoon I never once thought to myself, I am going to meet the Future Mrs. Kinder, My soulmate, in just one month. So, how did it happen? I wanted to find friends in the surrounding area that had the same ethics and morals as I do, so I downloaded an app called, United Young, after filling out a very long and extensive application I created my profile and began to search. Everyday swiping left and right on people. Then there was this one girl’s profile that appeared. She had a smile that could light up a room, she was involved in her local church, she graduated with a bachelors, and she was working on her masters degree. That profile would be the profile that would change my life for the better. From the first real conversation we had Bri was always someone that was easy to talk to. She was very relatable and we had a lot in common in how we were raised and our enjoyment in sports, (even though she is a Chiefs and Cardinals fan…) We met in person in May for the first time, sitting at a local bar and grill during the NFL Draft. I was sitting down at that booth finally sitting face to face with my best friend. Fast forward to a year since we matched on United Young. We have talked non stop everyday and i felt myself catching feelings and asked her out officially. Now three years later here we are planning a wedding. She was the easiest decision I ever made and moving to Tennessee without ever visiting the state and leaving all I knew in California was worth it because now I get to spend the rest of my life with my best friend. I love you Bri, LETS GET HITCHED!!
