Musings

The Wedding Website of Ellen Yoon and James Lee
Love poems, Haikus, etc.

I'd go anywhere with you.

...

There’s been a subtle tip into a changing world. We always asked, where should we go? but now we’re saying, anywhere.

Oceans

...

It’s as if you knew for a second I was lost swimming in the sea

Cache 23

...

You have arms that go for miles, long enough to wrap around me twice. Thrice!

Cache 80

...

I like you even when you are not looking. Our small affinities.

Falling

...

held up in the air between pauses– suddenly the crash of longing.

An Inkling

...

Three dreams of you, now How did you wander in here, sleep walking for miles?

Angles

...

The small mathematics of the length of your neck, it’s always curved towards me.

Assurance

...

I find rest knowing You are you. are you, are you? Despite my questions.

Glances

...

Your lips part an inch I’m uprooted suddenly. Can I stay afloat?

Small Thoughts

...

We banter by dusk sleep slipping in small risks of an early season.

Butterflies

...

I’m waiting, itching. Still your heart goes ba-dum. I’ve gone lop-sided.

Goosebumps

...

Your voice always gets me on my insides pulling all my hairs on up.

Lost

...

We’ve gotten a little lost here, but the trail is worn with yes and tested steps, and although the rain, making mud, creating floods, uprooting ancient blessings and prayers alike, will drown the mum of cicadas breathing deeply all the lulling sighs of life, the carving between the letting trees will prove to be a prodigal canal, connecting back, keeping track, and giving way to being found.

Stay A Bit

...

The subtle sweep of yes to no’s, of no’s to yes. I can’t hide the escaping sighs, the dismiss of pretense. But the interrupting curl of lips that sneak around a smitten mouth, will catch itself from showing teeth— A mild delay to the onslaught of a coming summer dream, making slight-of-hand gestures for a quick-to-pass spring, “Stay a bit longer.”

Universe

...

Let me know that in all your answers, in your quiet, in your mornings, in your questions, in your movements, there is love, always. You speak to me, I am not small to you. And in the matrix of a billion lives and lifetimes past, you count the times I blink, carrying my heart in your hands.

Until Tomorrow

...

I have always loved the phrase, “…until tomorrow” or “until we meet again” I like the idea of moving on until the moment when time will rush back or catch up to where you’ve left off. Isn’t it beautiful to think, or at least hope in the idea of resuming things, just as they were, at another time and place?

I Like You

...

I like you like the sea hugs the coast, crawling up the shore then slipping quickly home. You always sit too close and never say enough. You’ve been here for days and days talking barely, leaving sometimes, coming back with ideas of ghosts and foreign roads. We’ve hobbled across the bad habit of throwing importance in the air, but with time moving just as slow, I’ve grown quite fond of your nervous hands, your shifty antics, your cautious answers.

You + Me

...

You’ve reasoned my heart into thudding no longer for anything else.

Here's To Forever!

...

9 years in April Time, always halting for us. Us, infinitely.

For all the days along the way
