It all started with a swipe right...

Ellen and Parker met on Bumble. Swipe left, swipe right, modern dating that can make your eyes roll. A week of messaging and a first date was set, except one of them *cough* Ellen *cough* almost called it off. They caught a few innings of the Redbirds game before the rain set in, and agreed to walk to Maciel’s downtown once it cleared… the roof collapsed minutes before arriving. Yikes. The night ended at Huey’s, Parker’s first experience at the Memphis staple mastering toothpick darts. For a second date. Parker discovered an outdoor movie screening of Shrek 2 down by the river and suggested the two pack a picnic dinner. Anyone who knows Parker well knows he can’t find his way out of a paper bag, and so they got lost walking in 95 degrees. Ellen brought mochi, delicious ice cream balls wrapped in rice paper, that turned into sad sacks of sugar. They arrived on the scene to find a shoddy projection, kids running around everywhere, and mosquitos swarming. Parker with another swing and a miss. The third date, a quick bite and seeing Baby Driver, was smooth sailing until their heads collided bending down to grab something and Ellen got her first black eye. Oy. The fact that a fourth date happened just about sealed this fate. Two years later, all was set for the big night the day after Thanksgiving. Parker and Ellen had made plans to see the infamous Columbus Zoo Christmas lights. Just shy of the Zoo’s Polar Frontier, Parker asked if he could see Ellen’s gloves. Annoyed, Ellen shrugged him off but he insisted. Parker dropped to one knee and asked the same question he’d asked almost everyday for the past 2 years, “Will you keep me?” A small crowd had gathered as they observed the unfolding proposal and applause ensued as the ring was placed on her finger. Parker and Ellen were then set to be married, and the two of them can’t wait to make their union official in front of their closest family and friends on March 25th in stunning Sedona.
