It all started with a smile. That's what Ellen did when she made eye contact with me for the first time. As a shy guy, I just assumed someone as pretty as she would have a boyfriend. I was oblivious that she liked me. Eventually, I got the hint and worked up the guts to ask her on our first date, and I'm glad I did. Over almost seven years, I can genuinely say that there's never been a dull moment. Every day I learn something new about her while challenging me to do better each day and grow as a person. She is my better half. For those of you who don't know Ellen as well as I do, I'll share with you some essential details. Ellen has a massive heart. She loves animals, especially dogs. She's never crossed paths with a golden retriever that didn't melt her heart. If it were up to her, she would adopt every dog in the shelter. She's also fiercely protective of those she loves, especially her family and friends, and will not let anyone take advantage of them. She has a special bond with her mother and bothers, which is truly a beautiful thing to see. Ellen has a magnetic personality, with an infectious laugh, who isn't afraid to make new friends at parties. She's a runner. While she doesn't compete in races, she's always heading towards a new personal best, whether that be distance or pace. Most importantly, she's never given up on her dreams. There were times where she could have given up, such as not further pursuing her college degree. Never the less, she persisted. She didn't settle for less, which resulted in her graduating from her dream school and land a job in her desired field. She never stops inspiring me to be my best self, and I can't wait to spend the rest of my life with her.

It sounds corny, but for me, it truly was love at first sight. I saw Matt while I was working as a hairstylist, and I just had to know him. Matt and I are going on 7 years of being a couple. These years have been full of fun, adventure, and fulfilling our dreams both as a pair and as individuals. For those of you who know me but may not know Matt as well as you'd like - please allow me to help you fill in the gaps! Matt loves movies! He can quote the strangest things from the most obscure films. I love having this in my back pocket when we play trivia together and with our friends. Matt likes spicy food! We always have at least 5 or so different hot sauces in our fridge. Matt's a fabulous writer. He attended the University of Central Florida, where he earned his B.A. in Journalism. He proof read all of my papers when I was in college! Speaking of UCF, Matt is the Chair of the Tampa Bay UCF Alumni Chapter. He pours a lot of time and energy into this group. It makes me happy to see him happy! Matt enjoys craft beer. This is great because we live in St. Pete, FL. There are breweries everywhere! He has taught me all I need to know about Beer! Matt makes me coffee every single morning. It’s thoughtful, intentional, and something I look forward to every day. Matt loves to watch SNL. We never miss an episode. Matt looks especially handsome in light blue. My favorite pieces of myself stem from Matt. I love this kind, goofy, patient and compassionate person of mine!
