Kyle and Ellen met through a previous friend who was having her party at Zac's (Kyle's cousin) family lake house. Ellen and the friend arrived early, had some drinks, and Ellen had gone into the house to cool off from the heat of the summer day. That's when they first saw each other and they both thought, "Oh! They're cute!" From then on, they messaged back and forth all the time, eventually leading them to establish their relationship. Unfortunately, they lived 3 hours away from each other, so there was a lot of distance to be crossed whenever they wanted to see one another. That changed when Kyle bought a house and asked Ellen to live with him. At their 3 year anniversary, Kyle invited Ellen out to a big sushi dinner (Ellen's favorite) and then out to where they had their first date for ice cream. Ellen thought for sure that this was the day that Kyle would propose, in the gazebo on Main Street St. Charles. But they left, and Ellen thought perhaps this wasn't the day after all. As Ellen was about to get into the car, Kyle called out her name from behind her. When she turned around, he was down on one knee with the most beautiful ring Ellen had ever seen. "Will you marry me?" "YES!"
