Due to COVID-19, we are so heartbroken to inform you all that we are unable to publicly celebrate our marriage with you as originally planned. Instead, we will be having a private wedding with close family on this date. This has been such a difficult decision on our end and we hope you all understand that this is something we never expected to happen. Thank you all for your encouragement and prayers during this unpredictable time. I am confident, however, that the lifetime we will spend with you all as Mrs. and Mr. Olthouse will be full of joy, laughter, and lots of love! Stay healthy! With Love, Kayden & Ellen
In order to maintain the safety of our most loved family and friends, we will be challenged to make a decision as to whether we are able to continue with a public celebration of marriage, or if not—celebrate privately on June 13th. We deeply appreciate the love and support from each and every one of you during this time. Please refer here often to view updates on any decisions we are making. We have also decided to push back the RSVP by date to May 20th to accommodate the frequent changes. Thank you all for understanding. We are praying hard that we will be able to share our wedding day with all of you. We are trusting that God has beautiful plans for this day no matter what happens. With love, Kayden & Ellen
Our story is a simple story, but one that we love more than anything in the world. Our story begins in Middleville, Michigan, on November 25th, 2015. We were both 16 when we first started dating—with fresh driver’s licenses and way too much time on our hands. Some people would agree that we’re still this young. And sometimes we’d agree too, because it still feels like yesterday. We started dating with the intentions of marriage—a relationship that was mature, caring, and kind. In 2017, we walked together on graduation day. Our high school classmates nominated us the “Life of the Party” award as a unit, and we went out with a bang! And in 2018, Kayden asked Ellen to marry him. I think we’d both agree this was one of the best days yet. Present day, Kayden works at Buist Electric, and Ellen is a full-time Nursing student at Grand Valley. Life together is crazy, supportive, intentional, and busy. We feel so lucky that God has chosen to unfold our lives together, and we have no doubts that He will continue to bless our relationship in ways that we cannot even begin to imagine.
