We met on a blind date set up by a mutual friend in 2018. We met at a café to start and even though we talked mostly through a translator, we found that we had a lot of shared interests! We bonded over our love of animals and games, and enjoyed sharing our other hobbies with each other. Oongi shared his love of food and arcade games, while Ellie introduced him to how cool guinea pigs are and her love of crafting. We were only together a few months before Ellie moved back to Michigan and we continued to date long distance. We visited each other often and have traveled across both South Korea and Michigan together.
