Go see some art at one of the premier museums in the country! Ellen went to school here and recommends the Impressionist section on the second floor, and there’s an altar piece called Ad Astra that’s her fave. The Chagall stained glass is also a must-see, but there’s a plethora of cool art.
Free art museum and one of Ellen’s personal favorites. This place rocks.
Chicago’s zoo is situated right by the lakefront and is completely FREE. The zoo was founded in 1868 and is the second oldest zoo in the United States. I especially recommend the small primates house that’s home to some friendly river otters.
This is the first and only museum in the U.S. devoted to American writers and their works. It features interactive exhibits and has something for all ages and tastes. This is one of the favorite places that Ellen's mother enjoys when she visits Chicago.
This tour conducted on a boat in the Chicago River shows off the city's iconic buildings, reviews important milestones in Chicago's history. It is suitable for all interests and ages.
This is the largest digital art projection in the world. Find a spot to sit or stand on the Chicago Riverwalk across from the iconic building as the colorful images are cast on its facade. A great free activity on a Chicago evening.
