Rhonda Swanson, the lovely church organist and friend of the Tullys, will begin playing pre-ceremony music starting at 4:30pm on wedding day. The Beckerath organ in First Presbyterian Church is very special. The organ is located in the rear balcony of the sanctuary. The church consulted with many organ builders when a new instrument was being considered and selected one of the best craftmen in the world. Rudolf von Beckerath began building the instrument in 1970 and finished the final tuning in 1974. This organ has 58 Manual notes, 32 Pedal notes, Mechanical and electrical stop action, 49 stops, 74 ranks and 3665 pipes. Beckerath organs are known for "their friendly, singing quality" according to Dr. Henry Fusner; organist-choirmaster at First Presbyterian 1970-1989. We know your ears will delight in Rhonda's musical talents on our organ.
