April 2017: Ellen went to Texas to visit Brittni for a girls weekend. On Saturday, the girls ventured to Magnolia in Waco for the day and attended horse races outside of Dallas that evening - Ellen won $17! Little did she know, her luck was just warming up for the night. After the races, the girls attended an Easton Corbin concert at Billy Bob's in Fort Worth. The girls found some seats which happened to be near one of the bars. Out of the corner of her eye, Ellen spotted a good-lookin' gentleman and thought to herself, "Man! That guy is REALLY CUTE!! I hope he comes over and talks to me!!" [Please note, Ellen did not usually talk to people outside of her friend group at bars.] She looked over in his direction and made [read:] AWKWARDLY LONG EYE CONTACT. When she finally looked away, she thought she ruined her chances - that guy probably thought she was weird for staring for so long. Nonetheless, Ellen glanced back over at him - to her surprise, he smiled at her again! As Ellen returned (most of) her attention back to her friends, she noticed the guy was coming towards her. She reasoned that he was going to the bar behind her to get a drink; however, someone gently tapped on her shoulder: "Excuse me, would you like to dance?" he asked. "Yes!" Ellen replied with a smile [because she didn't really know how to dance]. As the guy led Ellen out to the dance floor, they exchanged names. Ellen added, too, that she didn't know how to dance; Edgar's kind response was, "That's okay! I'll teach you." They danced and talked all night, like they'd known each other for years. Edgar gave Ellen his number, and they parted ways at closing time. Although it was pouring down rain outside the bar, they left with a warm familiarity and fondness in their hearts. Two months later, Edgar made the trip up to Missouri, where he took Ellen on their first "official" date, at Gailey's in Springfield. Thus began the story of how one dance led them to the rest of our lives...
