We're excited that Friday evening is open for you to enjoy some classic Cape fare and hospitality. Some of our favorites include Impudent Oyster, Bluefins, The Raw Bar, Chatham Bars Inn, Buca's, and Del Mar. If you're looking for a bit more "culture", check out the Squire. We'll probably see you there for a nightcap.
There is no dress code for the Wequassett in general, but regarding the Twenty-Eight Atlantic restaurant, the resort states "Gentlemen would feel most comfortable in shorts that aren't jeans and a polo shirt as opposed to a T-shirt; ladies would feel most comfortable not wearing casual jeans."
We recommend cocktail attire.
In the event of rainy weather, we will move the ceremony indoors at Laura Donahue's house (201 Emery Lane). A tent will provide protection for the reception.
We have booked a shuttle to transport some guests to and from the ceremony/reception. The shuttle is on the hook till midnight - so we'll plan on staggered, teary-eyed departures later on in the evening to return you to your accommodations.
Ok, so here's the deal: The lobster rolls tend to change season to season, so don't take our word for it, but...Our three favorites are 01) Chatham Fish and Chips (giant and pricey, but oh, so delish), 02) Young's Fish Market in Orleans (small, cash-only, tried-and-true, located next to a scenic town landing called Rock Harbor), and 03) Chatham Fish Pier (somewhere between the two previous recommendations). If you find one that steals your heart that we haven't listed here, spill the beans.
You betcha. Coffee | Snowy Owl in Brewster. Do yourself a favor and order a popover. If Brewster is too much of a haul, try the Snowy Owl espresso hut in downtown Chatham. Pastries | Marion's Pie Shop. Try not to drool over their case. Libations | The Squire for a beer. Perks Beer Garden for a craft beer. Bluefins or Impudent Oyster for a cocktail. Beaches | Lighthouse Beach (limited parking, short walk from downtown); Morris Island (nature reserve with beach access and trails); Rock Harbor (great for the kiddos); Marconi Beach (watch that undertow!); Coast Guard Beach (ditto!). Trails | Check out our All Trails link for a list of our favorites (and please check the tides and weather before heading out): https://www.alltrails.com/lists/e-b-s-cape-cod-adventure-list-6194a1e?u=i If you have access to wheels and prefer a long bike ride, hop on the Cape Cod Rail Trail.
