The weather in June should be lovely! Enjoy some outdoors time on the Constitution Trail. This is a rails to trails path that goes through over 30 miles of the town. Ellen runs on the trail regularly and recommends starting at Connie Link Ampitheatre. From there you can travel north to Uptown Normal, south towards Illinois Wesleyan and downtown Bloomington, or East toward Tipton Trails.
Uptown Normal is home to many quaint shops and delicious restaurants. It's an excellent place for a stroll. There are also often festivals and events in the area.
One of our favorite restaurants! Brandon once worked here and highly recommends the cheese curds!
Another favorite restaurant; we had our first date here!
A regular hangout! Delicious food and excellent company. We recommend finding a table in the bar area, but the restaurant area in the back is nice too and accepts reservations.
The Miller Park Zoo is a great little zoo here in town. Go visit the zoo and see some of the animals that Ellen studies including the seals, otters, New Guinea Singing Dogs, red wolves, and snow leopards! Bonus: Admission is only $6 for adults!
This is a great museum to visit with kids!
