Ellen and Trey met in early 2020, just as the pandemic swept across the world. Ellen had recently moved into The Park at Ashford, where Trey already lived with his dog, Mocha. She quickly got to know her neighbors at the dog park, bringing her dog Ruby to play, and was added to the “Dog Park Gang” group chat, where Trey was already a member. When lockdowns began, that dog park crew became a small, trusted social circle. That’s where Ellen and Trey finally met—along with their pups. There was an instant connection between both the dogs and their humans. They bonded over a shared sense of humor, love for music, food, animals, sports, travel, and overlapping social circles - Ellen's sister, Erin, had professional and personal friendships with a few of Trey's friends! But there was just one catch: Ellen was in a relationship at the time. So, a friendship formed, filled with more days at the dog park and neighborhood hangouts. Not long after, Ellen was single (as fate intended), and eventually, Trey made his move. Only to hear “it's not the right time, you don’t want to date me right now…” So the friendship continued—and deepened. The connection was undeniable. Ellen’s best friend, Natalie, spent a lot of time with them and often watched the two move from friendly to flirty, witnessing a relationship forming before her, even when they tried to play it cool. Finally, after a Memorial Day weekend, they made it "official" on May 31, 2022. Trey was patient, and Ellen could no longer deny that he was the one. He never gave up. As their relationship grew through trips, milestones, and everyday life, they also faced challenges that tested their bond. Through it all, their desire to hold onto each other remained strong, with a connection that was simply inextinguishable. They leaned on faith and trusted God’s plan, committed to growing both individually and together, and watched their love transform. On May 4, 2024, Ellen moved into Trey’s condo—still in the same neighborhood where it all began. Ruby and Mocha, who brought them together, are now inseparable sisters. On May 14, 2025, Trey proposed during a “tour of the strip” in Las Vegas, right in front of the Bellagio Fountains. The moment was captured—and “Proud to Be an American” was playing (which does make them the most patriotic couple you know). The next night, they saw Dead & Company at the Sphere, the reason for the trip. It was an unforgettable 48 hours. Ellen and Trey’s love continues to grow, rooted in deep friendship, unconditional love, and unwavering commitment.
