Traverse City's climate and proximity to Lake Michigan make it the perfect place for grapes to thrive. There are many wineries nearby, but we recommend making your way along the Old Mission Peninsula - it's a beautiful drive! There are several companies in the area that offer guided wine tours for those looking for a DD.
Our hotel has its own beach area on the bay, but Sunset Park Beach and Clinch Park Beach are both within walking distance of downtown as well. Or, if you're up for a drive, check out Esch Beach on the Lake Michigan side!
Northern Michigan is a golf destination. Grand Traverse Resort is 15 minutes from downtown and offers three different courses to choose from.
This National Lakeshore offers stunning views, as well as a variety of hikes. It's also where Elleise and Ethan got engaged! If you're up for a challenge, give the Dune Climb a try!
Early September through late October is prime time for salmon fishing in Traverse City. Reminder that you will need to get your fishing license, which can be done online.
