They were working the night shift on a jet at Travis AFB, CA. When Nathan offered to grab lunch for Elle, but she decided she was just going to go with him. They went to Wing Stop and had lunch, engaging in deep conversation and began hanging out shortly after. The rest is history.

They were on their final mission for Travis AFB. Upon departing England, with the next stop being Charleston, SC, they had a panel fly off of the top of the wing while over the Atlantic Ocean. While working to remedy the situation, Nathan decided it to be a perfect time to pop the question while being on top of the C-5 Aircraft (Obviously she said YES).
