Question
“What’s the dress code?”
Answer
Fancy, with a side of funky (if you lean funky). You know that thing in your closet that you look at and think “Ugh, if only I had somewhere to wear this!”? Wear that. Or, if this description is more irritating than inspiring, the dress code is “cocktail.” While we like to think we’re not fussy, please no jeans, sweats, etc.

"When should I arrive to the ceremony?"
Answer
Our ceremony begins at 5:30PM promptly -- please arrive at least a few minutes before that! We will have pre-ceremony entertainment with a champagne welcome and live music from The Goldenrods, so we encourage you to arrive as early as 5:00PM.
Question
“May I bring a guest or my child?”
Answer
We’re so fortunate to be rich in both friends and family, and that unfortunately conflicts with the physics of an enclosed space. Your invitation will state on its envelope who is invited. If space opens up, we will reach out to our friends who are traveling first to let them know -- we know it's a big commitment to go out of your way to attend!

"By when should I RSVP?"
Answer
Please let us know of your plans by October 18 so that we can share firm details with our venue. Our RSVP page will let you send confirmation or regrets.

"May I take photos/videos during the ceremony?"
Answer
We ask that you do not, for the most part! There will be a moment where our officiant allows our friends to take photos, but otherwise, our photographer and videographer will handle the rest.

"What type of food/drink will be served?"
Answer
We will have an open bar, because we love you. For food, light hors d'oeuvres will be served during cocktail hour, with a full dinner and cake to follow. We are both strict vegetarians and have a menu planned accordingly. If you typically don't eat this way, please trust us and our caterer -- we're confident you will be happy!

"Can my dietary restriction be accommodated?"
Answer
Absolutely! Please let us know in your RSVP if you are vegan, gluten-free, etc., or if you have allergies to specific items. Our caterer is wonderfully creative and will make sure you have something delicious.

"What should I expect if I am traveling?"
Answer
We have a hotel block reserved that you can book within in our Travel section. There are few enough out-of-towners that we do not have a shuttle booked from the hotel, but it is a short ride/drive away!

"When will the reception end? Is there an after party?"
Answer
The reception ends at 11:00PM promptly. As for an after party, the answer is yes -- we will be going to a nearby bar afterward (where we go depends on how many folks want to keep it going). Our DJ will announce the location of the after party toward the end of the reception.

"What do I do if my question isn't answered?"
Answer
If it's before November 10, you can email us at ellejakeweddingcake@gmail.com. If it's after November 10, you can still email us, but Elle will shed no fewer than 10 tears for every extra thing she has to deal with that week, so it's your call.
