Sean and Ella met in 2011 at Polytechnic High School in Pasadena, CA. They were both on the JV soccer teams; and Sean’s classmate and Ella’s teammate, Claire Drolen, introduced the two. It was Ella’s first relationship and the two had a cute youthful courtship. Ella fell for him when he showed her the view from the top of Mt. Washington with its thousands of twinkling city lights. Their first date was at the Griffith Park observatory and the planetarium made them feel so small. They explored LA together, visiting the Brewery Art Walk, watching the Derby Girls roller derby, eating at the Original Farmers Market, and seeing Harold and Maude at the Hollywood Forever Cemetery. The two went to prom together. (Check out those adorable photos!) However at the end of the school year, they parted ways and Sean left for college. A couple years passed without staying in touch, but a fateful text from Sean reconnected them in 2015. While Ella was studying abroad in Florence, Italy, they started chatting again. In a whirlwind 2 weeks back in LA before shipping off to NYC for the summer, Sean and Ella fell in love. Bolstered by a shared history, rediscovering each other as matured adults proved quick fodder for a romance. Sean came to visit Ella in NYC that summer and then in St. Louis throughout the year as she finished her senior year of college at WashU. This year of long distance and many FaceTime calls ended with Sean picking Ella up in his friend Daniel Fox’s car and driving half way across the country back home to LA. After a year, the couple moved in together with their friend Daniel Vanchieri. ~interlude of the bulk of their relationship aka the merging of souls~ Sean proposed to Ella after 8 years together. He did so in the beautiful Taft Gardens in Ojai, CA, overlooking the Pink Moment of the Topa Topa Mountains. The couple lives together in Highland Park, CA with their extraordinary cat, Zezu.
