Our Story from Ryan

The first time Ella and I crossed paths paints a clear picture of who we are and what we stand for. Picture this, little freshman year Ryan (picture a 13 year old little boy in your head if you don't know what I looked like freshman year) getting introduced to his new men's organization when the emcee's tell the world my fun fact is that I can do a wonderful Michael Jackson impression (I had no idea this was my fun fact). Without skipping a beat, as "Billie Jean" bumps through the building I flawlessly moonwalk into the middle of the room and danced in a way that would've made MJ proud. This was the first moment that I caught Ella's eye. "Who's that boy?? HE' CUTE!" She said to herself and "clicked save" on me from that day. If you know Ella, you know that dancing and goofiness is the way to her heart and I grabbed it that day. Mind you, she liked me first :). I spent way too long describing that so I'm going to fast forward to the first time I met Ella. She saw, yet again, my incredible dance moves at my men's organization's second date party of the year (I guess I was really attractive at date parties). She said to my buddy, "Who is this freshman I keep seeing?? I'm going to introduce myself to him!" We shook hands and I was mind blown by how beautiful this girl was, so much to the point I looked her up on Instagram when I got home and was deeply impressed to find out that she had no social media. We continued to see each other on the dance floor throughout the year (apparently we only see each other dancing) and both stored each other in the back of our minds thinking about what could be. By the winter of my sophomore year I had enough. My buddy talked me into taking Ella to the next date party, but I had bigger plans in mind. Let me paint another picture into your head. I finish my Finance exam at 9pm, exhausted I grab McDonald's and turn on "Dead Poets Society." I arrive at the part where Professor Keating teaches the class about "Carpe Diem" which means "Seize the Day!" and in a moment of triumphant inspiration, I pause the movie, shout, "CARPE DIEM" and text Ella that night if she would like to go with me to the next date party. She says, "RYAN LEE! PRAISE! I would love nothing more!" and the rest is history. That night I'm sure I danced like it was the last night of my life to impress the one and only Ella Moore. Afterwards, I took her to the top of the Rooftop parking garage and we threw Diet Cokes off the top of the building as I got to hear her testify to the glory of God's redeeming work in her family. I was hesistant to ask her on a date, but after spending from 7pm-1am with her I finally mustered up the courage to ask Ella on our first date! "YES!!" she replied to which I said, "Really?" (true story by the way). As winter break approached I knew I would have to move quickly, so two incredible dates later, I asked Ella if she would like to be my girlfriend and she covered her face, squealed, then gave me the biggest hug I'd ever received. I was so enamored by the glory of God she revealed to me through her quality questions, tender heart, perseverance through trials, and her beauty! On December 3, 2024 we began the 2nd best adventure of our lives (other than our service to Jesus). I met her incredibly godly yet incredibly large (there are so many of them) family and they treated me as one of their own. We went on dates, I picked her up from class, went to Aggie games, did long distance while I was at Kamp, she went to my Songfest practices, and fell in love with each other as we helped each other fall more in love with God. On March 27th, 2026 I had Ella's amazing friends (and mom) pick her up from school to give her a note revealing that I was indeed not broke and will be proposing to her later that day. She laughed and cried with her friends until she was dropped off and I got on one knee and committed to loving Ella forever.
