It all started with a chance encounter between Ella and Parker’s mom, Kathy, on a delayed flight to California in October 2022. With time to spare, they struck up a conversation, and by the end of the flight, Kathy had a new friend and a great idea. When she told Parker about Ella, he joked, “Why don’t you give her my number?” So she did. Despite living on opposite coasts—Ella in Santa Barbara and Parker in Boston—a first date was quickly planned. On a rainy November night, 11.11.22, they met for the first time at the Boston Park Plaza. Sharing an umbrella and hopping from bar to bar in Back Bay, the spark was instant—and a second date was already on the books by the end of the night. Two years (and many flights) later, on 12.21.24, Parker proposed in Boston Common, just blocks from where it all began.
