YMCA of the Rockies is at 7500 feet of elevation, and altitude sickness is real! To be prepared, be sure to stay hydrated in the days leading up to the wedding, as well as during the weekend itself. While there will be lots of fun things to do, plan to take it easy! Alcohol also makes altitude sickness much, much worse - this is one of the reasons we're not planning to serve alcoholic beverages, and request that you please not bring any onto the YMCA campus. If you start to feel crummy, food, water, and Tums will help. The nurse's station will also have oxygen available.
The weather in Colorado summer can be variable - it should be dry and warm during the day, but can still get chilly overnight. Think sunny 70s during the day, and 40s overnight. We recommend bringing some layers!
Yes! We all use certain pronouns to refer to ourselves - some people use 'she' over 'he', or 'they' over either of those - and we want to make sure we get everyone's right. Please be sure to let us know what you use on your RSVP so that we can respect and welcome everyone.
Casual/Come-As-You-Are is a general guideline. There isn't a dress code particularly; we want everyone to be comfortable. Keep an eye on the weather and dress appropriately for that first and foremost!
A water bottle and walking shoes, sunscreen and a hat!
