The Traditional Latin Mass was the standard form of the Catholic Mass for centuries until changes were introduced after Vatican II, leading to the new Mass in 1970. The Mass is said in Latin, features more silence, and the priest faces the altar for most of the Mass. Additionally, Holy Communion is received while kneeling at the altar rail on the tongue only. You are not expected to say "Amen" before receiving Communion. As is the case with all Masses, Holy Communion may only be received by practicing Catholics in a state of grace. If you're new to it, don’t worry! You can follow along in English in the provided missals at the Church. We kindly ask for prayerful silence before and during Mass to maintain an atmosphere of reverence. We invite you to embrace the beauty of the liturgy.
