We're Getting Married!

Every great love story starts with a little nudge — and in our case, that nudge came from one of Ella’s best friends from university: Tricia. She had a feeling… the kind of feeling only a true friend gets. Tricia couldn’t stop talking to Ella about her friend Ben — how sweet, smart, and so her type he was. She was convinced they needed to meet. Ella and Ben, on the other hand, were a little skeptical. What if it was awkward? What if it didn’t click? And worse — what if they were stuck together all weekend? But fate (and Tricia's persistent matchmaking skills) had other plans. That summer, Ben and his roommate planned a trip to Kelowna to check out campus, since Ben was moving there in the fall for school. Tricia came along — and so did Ella. Tricia arranged for everyone to spend the weekend at Ben’s family vacation home on Shuswap Lake… and let’s just say, that’s where everything changed. Ben and Ella clicked instantly. Ella remembers sitting in the car with Ben for the first time, heart pounding, thinking “He’s so cute… I’m so nervous!” Meanwhile, Ben remembers seeing Ella and having the quiet, certain thought: “She’s hot" and knew that she would be the one after the weekend together. That weekend was filled with lakeside laughs, late-night talks, and sneaking away just to have a little time alone together. It was fast, but it felt natural — like they had known each other for years. Just two weekends later, Ben asked Ella to be his girlfriend. From day one, they were sure of each other. No games, no second-guessing — just love. Two years later, Ben popped the question… and the rest, well, is leading us to this very moment.
