Things To Do

Gaslamp Quarter

Gaslamp Quarter

San Diego, CA 92101

Spanning about 16 blocks, the Gaslamp Quarter is an enclave of San Diego blossoming with craft-cocktail bars, a tally of brilliant restaurants, glossy stores and so much more. Here you will find restaurants, entertainment, art galleries, and shopping – and it’s easily walkable.

Balboa Park

Balboa Park

San Diego, CA

No trip to San Diego is complete without a walk through Balboa Park – a sprawling 1,200-acre historical and cultural oasis. A total of 17 museums call this urban park home, and every one of them is worthy of a tour. A fan of Comic-Con? There’s a museum dedicated to the pop culture event. Interested in science? Explore the over-100 exhibits on display at the Fleet Science Center. Fond of the old masters? Peruse canvases by renowned Spanish and Italian painters at The San Diego Museum of Art.

San Diego Zoo

2920 Zoo Drive, San Diego, CA 92101

There’s a reason why the San Diego Zoo is on every San Diego must-visit list. It’s one of the most prominent and highly rated zoos in the country. If you’re already planning a trip to Balboa Park, then the San Diego Zoo isn’t too far of a jaunt. Situated along the park’s northern outskirts and taking up almost 100 acres, this wildlife park is home to more than 12,000 creatures – so there’s a lot to see. To cover the most ground, visitors can opt for the 35-minute guided bus tour (especially those with tots in tow), but exploring the zoo on foot is also a great way to experience it.

USS Midway Museum

USS Midway Museum

910 North Harbor Drive, San Diego, CA 92101

From the flight deck to below deck, explore the life of a USS Midway aviator on this historic aircraft carrier. You can even experience a flight simulator. And be sure to take in the “Battle of Midway,” a multi-media movie about one of World War II’s most important naval battles. After touring the Midway, you can enjoy wandering through this seaside area. In addition to the Midway, you will also find the Maritime Museum of San Diego and Museum of Contemporary Art. Family and friends can also grab a bite at one of the trendy restaurants at The Headquarters, an old police command post.

Craft & Commerce

Craft & Commerce

675 West Beech Street, San Diego, CA 92101

A little fun fact; Daniel and Shayna had their very FIRST date here! From the decorative tiling of the floors to the writing on the walls, Craft and Commerce gives you a lot to look at to keep you occupied while you wait for your food… But the restaurant is more than just the décor. Craft and Commerce boasts an excellent menu and they are known for their craft cocktails. As if the taxidermy, library, and killer menu weren’t enough, Craft and Commerce also has a mystery beyond their freezer: a secret entrance to False Idol, a tiki bar with a whopping 36 -count cocktail menu. If you are looking for a unique dining experience in San Diego, Craft and Commerce (and False Idol) should be on your list.
