CHEM 251 Honors Molecular Architecture. Even though we had officially met our first year in college, it took being lab partners the following year to begin a relationship!
Elizabeth: My Great-Grandfather founded a museum called "The Works" in Newark, OH. I had always mentioned wanting to take Zach for a visit so he planned out a day and we went to take a tour. Our first activity was making glass blown hearts with the help of a personal guide. Then we explored the museum before sitting through a SciDome show on the Sun and Stars. After the show we took a break and went to grab a warm drink at River Road Coffeehouse close to the museum. There was more to explore at the museum so we went back and continued where we had previously left off. When we had finished looking at everything, we started walking out to our car. My Great-Grandfather has a statue outside of the museum as a remembrance of him. Zach took my picture with the statue and then walked toward me to give me a hug. While he was hugging me he said "This man was special in many ways. He was able to give his wife something several years ago that I now have the privilege to give to you." Zach got down on one knee and opened up the ring box that contained my Great-Grandmother's engagement ring. I'm still not sure I even said yes because I was so surprised. After my senses came back to me, I saw my brother (who had been secretly taking pictures) walking towards us. My brother did a mini photoshoot and then we went to share the good news with my Grandparents. It was the perfect day and I can't wait to marry the love of my life!!
