Zachary and I met when we were sophomores in college through Christian Business Leaders. Our paths first crossed at his 20th birthday party. We became friends and hung out often within our CBL class. About a year later, Zach asked me to a Date Party where we dressed up as characters from La La Land. As he dropped me off he asked me on an official date. Our first date was at Lake Walk where he brought pizookies, even though it was a cool February evening. Our second date was at Caffe Capri and then we hung out at Lake Bryan where we talked and laughed for hours. That is when I knew I liked him! After a few more dates and spending Spring Break apart, we both returned from mission trips and became official on our drive home from Waffle House. We spent the rest of our junior year seeing where things were going. After a summer of long distance, we were reunited for our senior year and started considering the future. Just before we went long distance again, Zach told me he loved me on the beach in Florida. Little did I know over the summer he asked my parents for their blessing to marry me. A few weeks before Zach proposed, my sister, Rebekah, asked if I wanted to get my nails done with her and a friend for the fall season. I checked my calendar and Zach was supposedly going “home” to Dallas for the weekend, so I did not suspect a thing. On the day of the proposal, Rebekah and her friend Hannah came over and we dressed up to have a girls outing. We got our nails done and headed home. When I walked into the kitchen, there was Zach - sans the mullet - that is when I knew something was up. He asked if I wanted to go for a walk. He led me to a grove of trees, said a few words I will never remember, and dropped to one knee. The rest is history!
