The best spot to travel the world, without leaving the city. Great coffee, wonderful food, cool shopping, and non-stop people watching: what else could one ask for?!
Art Gallery of Ontario
A Toronto institution and one of our favourite picks for days when the weather is less than ideal. The architecture of the building is worth a visit itself!
Aga Khan Museum
Proof that culture is alive and well outside the downtown core! Beautiful gardens to stroll through and lots of outdoor concerts and special events to complement a rich collection of art and archaeological artifacts.
Ward's Island
Everyone loves the Toronto Islands and we especially love Wards Island! Make sure you get on the right ferry, pack some snacks and a blanket and pretend you're not a literal 10 minute ferry ride from the hustle and bustle of downtown Toronto.
Mezes
One of our favourite east-end spots, right on the Danforth! Traditional, unfussy Greek dishes that are perfect for sharing. Don't leave without trying the Kolokithakia Tiganita- golden fried zucchini magic!
Piano Piano Restaurant
One of our favourite midtown spots where we have shared memorable meals and celebrated lots! Don't leave without trying the Mushroom Cavatelli!
Valley Fields Restaurant
This greasy spoon is comfort on a plate and the sight of many a weekend morning catch up. Come hungry and don't leave without trying the Harvest Special: no ham extra sausage, a la Varak!
Good Bite Restaurant
The second greasy spoon pick with well worn booths, coffee refills and a very reliable all day breakfast.
Playa Cabana Cantina
This is one of our west-end faves and is a great spot for delicious, sharable Mexican fare. Make sure to ask for Elizabeth's favourite drink: a very yummy red sangria!
Tumi Dumpling House
A great hidden gem serving some of the yummiest dumplings in the city. Pan fried or steamed, this deep menu is worth exploring!
