Palmer (Tyler) and Lizzie’s friendship began with a few chance encounters, but it wasn’t until the Bonnaroo Music Festival in 2019 that they truly connected and became fast friends. Palmer (Tyler), who attended Appalachian State, quickly bonded with Lizzie’s hometown friends. After spending an unforgettable weekend surrounded by good company and great music, they found themselves inseparable. Palmer would travel to Raleigh for events, and Lizzie would visit (Palmer )in Wilmington nearly every weekend throughout the summer. By the end of that season, they realized they each wanted something more than friendship. Their first year together was spent navigating the challenges of a long-distance relationship, with trips between Raleigh and Wilmington keeping the spark alive. When the pandemic hit in 2020, they found themselves with more time to make distance feel a little easier. In 2021, Palmer wrapped up his time in Wilmington - and Lizzie, ever the supportive partner, assured him she’d follow him to any city in North Carolina and continue her teaching career. They made their home in Charlotte, where they bought a house in February 2024. On November 27, 2025, Palmer asked Lizzie to marry him, marking the next chapter in their beautiful journey together.
