Our Story

Growing up in the same church, Tyler and Elizabeth have practically known each other since the beginning of time. However, it wasn’t until their first mission trip together to Pennsylvania that they really became close. It was here that Elizabeth asked the fateful question that hooked Tyler in, “wanna fight?” Intrigued, Tyler took the bait and decided to see where this “fight” would lead, secretly hoping not to get knocked out. Elizabeth, on the other hand, was locked and loaded and looking to actually throw some punches. It was the setup for a perfect love story... From that trip on, Elizabeth and Tyler spent just about every moment with each other that they could. From soccer games to high school graduations then to college graduations and moving in together, they have always been by each others’ side. Now, just a quick 11 years later, they have decided to tie the knot and spend the rest of their lives together!

The Proposal

9/2/2021

The problem with being so close is that it becomes hard to keep anything from each other. So when it came time that Tyler wanted to propose, he did his best to keep the ring hidden inside a lockbox that Elizabeth, to that day, had never gone into. Genius. Then, of course, one day when Tyler was away, Elizabeth needed to get into the lockbox to get her passport - the gig was up. So, Elizabeth found out about the ring. She didn't open the box to actually look at it, but she knew it existed. Now, Tyler had to get a little creative and come up with a way that he could still surprise her. So, on a warm Thursday night in the beginning of September, Elizabeth took their dog Phoebe to go for a walk with one of her friends and her dog. Tyler, who was supposed to be golfing that night, instead rushed over to a bridge on the path where the girls would be walking to set up shop and wait for them. After what seemed like forever, Elizabeth finally turned the corner and started walking towards the bridge. It took her a second or two (okay maybe more like 30 seconds) to realize that it was indeed Tyler standing on the bridge, but once she did, the rest is history. We can't wait to celebrate with you all! See you in October!
