By far our favorite restaurant in the area! Located in downtown Wenatchee, McGlinn’s is a cozy spot known for its wood-fired pizzas, hearty salads, burgers, and famous beer bread with honey butter (a must-try!). The building has a rustic, historic vibe inside, and when the weather’s nice, you can enjoy their outdoor “parklet” patio, sometimes with live music. It’s a great place to gather with friends, have a casual date night, or just enjoy good food in a relaxed setting. Fun fact, this is where Ellie worked in high school :)
Right on the Columbia River waterfront, Pybus Market is a lively indoor marketplace with tons of local restaurants, shops, and artisan vendors. On Saturday mornings (spring through fall), there’s also a farmers’ market outside with fresh produce, crafts, and live music. It’s a great place to grab a bite, wander around with family, or enjoy a date night. Plus, it sits right along the Apple Capital Loop Trail, so you can easily pair it with a scenic walk by the river.
This 10-mile paved trail loops along both sides of the Columbia River and is perfect for families, couples, or anyone who just wants a nice walk. You’ll find playgrounds, little waterparks for kids, and plenty of spots to grab food and drinks along the way. The best part is you don’t have to do the whole thing, you can hop on at different points and just enjoy a portion of the trail at your own pace.
Perched on a rocky bluff above Wenatchee, Ohme Gardens is a 9-acre alpine-style escape that’s tucked away yet effortlessly charming. Perfect for families or couples looking for a peaceful stroll, this place has a magical vibe with stone paths, secret pools, gentle waterfalls, and over 50 rustic stone benches to rest awhile. The views of the Columbia River Valley and Cascade Mountains are stunning, especially from spots like the “Hidden Pool” or one of the scenic overlooks. It’s seasonal—open mid-April through mid-October, and there’s a small admission fee ($8), but it's totally worth it for the peaceful beauty and dreamy atmosphere.
This is a Lewis & Solomon favorite! It isn’t your typical mini golf with neon obstacles and windmills. At Desert Canyon, the mini course feels like the real deal, just scaled down. Instead of barriers and plastic, you’ll play on real grass with rolling hills and open fairways. It’s fun for families, groups, or anyone who wants to try their hand at golf without committing to the full 18 holes.
Just about 30 minutes from Wenatchee, Leavenworth is a charming mountain town designed like a Bavarian village. The streets are lined with cute shops, breweries, and restaurants serving everything from pretzels and bratwurst to local wines and cheeses. Depending on the season, you might catch a festival, go river rafting, or just enjoy the alpine scenery and mountain trails nearby. It’s a fun day trip for families, couples, or anyone who wants to experience a taste of the Alps without leaving Washington.
About an hour from Wenatchee, Chelan is all about the lake life. Lake Chelan stretches for miles with crystal-clear water perfect for swimming, boating, or just lounging on the shore. The town itself is super charming, with boutique shops, restaurants, and plenty of ice cream spots. For the adults, the area is also known for its wineries, cideries, and breweries, many with beautiful views of the water. Whether you’re up for an adventure or just want a relaxing day in the sun, Chelan is a great spot to visit.
If you’re headed to Chelan with family or just want to cool off, Slidewaters is the perfect spot. It’s a lakeside waterpark with winding slides, a lazy river, a wave pool, and even areas for little kids to splash around. On a hot summer day, it’s a fun way to spend a few hours before grabbing food in town or relaxing by the lake.
