FAQs

Question

What should I wear? Is there a dress code?

Answer

The dress code: Festive Attire Think cocktail-party attire, only with brighter colors. Ladies: Wear a cocktail dress or party dress in a fun color, paired with playful accessories and heels or dressy flats. Gents: Wear a suit or sport coat, jazzed up with a fun tie. Best pocket square gets three minutes with the mic at dinner.

Question

What will the weather be like this time of year?

Answer

December in WI is relatively cold, and you should expect snow. Average December high temps: 33°F Average December low temps: 24°F Bring a coat, but don't worry. All events will be indoors and in the same general vicinity. You won't have to be outside for too long if you walk to a nearby bar, and you won't have to drive much in the snow.

Question

What time should I arrive?

Answer

You should arrive at the Church 15-30 minutes before the ceremony begins. We will not have assigned seating or assigned "sides." So finding a seat will not be an issue.

Question

When is the RSVP deadline?

Answer

The RSVP deadline is October 17, 2020. Please respond by then- we know it's early. And if you have questions, text Elizabeth or Shep.

Question

What should I do between the ceremony and the reception?

Answer

You can hang out with friends and family at the hotel or at some bars and restaurants around Fond du Lac: The Hotel Retlaw: cocktail bar Theo's 24: best for wine and across the street from the reception/ hotel 18 Hands Ale Haus: Great beer and close to the hotel Backyard Grill & Bar: Great for food and drinks and close to the church There are plenty of other great places to have a beverage or two around the city. Enjoy!

Question

Where are you registered?

Answer

Our registry is hosted on this site! Click the "Registry" tab at the top. We are also registered at Carolyn Todd’s in Greensboro, NC. Their number is (336) 274-3307, and when you call, just ask about Elizabeth & Shep’s registry! Thank you!

Question

Will transportation be provided between to/from the hotel?

Answer

No. We recommend that you fly in to the Milwaukee Airport, just an hour south of Fond du Lac, or the Appleton Airport, about 40 minutes north of Fond du Lac. We also recommend that everyone stay at the Hotel Retlaw, so you can carpool if you'd like.

Question

Can I take and post pictures of the wedding on social media?

Answer

Yes! Just tag us, so we can enjoy all the photos, too :)
