Sean and I met like many millennials do—through a dating app. Neither of us enjoyed the bar scene or small talk, so it was the perfect way for us to connect. Sean was looking for someone to “help walk the dog,” and I happily put in my application. From the very beginning, Sean was smitten by my sense of humor and cuteness (his words, not mine!), and I couldn’t help but be charmed by his kindness and how easy he was to talk to. Even though we grew up on opposite ends of Chicagoland, we quickly realized we were connected by an invisible string of mutual friends and shared values. Sean and I bonded most over our faith, our love for family, and our mutual appreciation for a simple, meaningful life. These days, we like to joke that we’re basically retired—spending our time taking long walks with our dog, Simba, enjoying early dinners, and working on our landscape. We love playing golf together, going to Kane County Cougars baseball games (especially on “dog days,” where Simba wins contests like peanut butter licking and cutest dog), and spending quiet evenings in our backyard around a bonfire. When we’re at home, you can also find us battling it out over board games in some very competitive (but loving) matches. We’re so excited to start this next chapter of our lives and can’t wait to celebrate with all of you!
