It was just another Wednesday pint night at Young Ave Deli. She was in town for a work event and looking for help with her car. He was there with his friends, and she asked the age old question - "Do you happen to have any jumper cables?" He didn't, but he offered her a drink and a seat at the table. The friend she'd met earlier that night came with her (which he didn't count on), and though he tried to keep a conversation going with him, he couldn't take his eyes off her. She knew. He asked for her number and gave her his phone, which she kept for several minutes. Eventually he heard "you can add your Chinese birthday in here?!" He knew. She left to actually find jumper cables, and after a while he got up to leave. She wasn't having that. She intercepted him as he went to open the door. After a brief but intriguing exchange and a peck on her cheek, he left, not even looking back. So began a flurry of text messages that stretched the very limits of cellphone tower capacity. Four days later, they reunited, and they have rarely been apart since. They say "when you know, you know." They knew.
