John Wayne is the closest airport to both Dana Point and Costa Mesa. It is approx 30 minutes away from Dana Point and 10 minutes away from Costa Mesa.

suggestions
I suggest staying somewhere close to Costa Mesa. The reception is the last event on Friday and if you are planning on going to Disneyland (which I hope you are), its approximately 20 minute drive.
