Elizabeth and Nolan met their senior year of high school when they just so happened to get seated next to each other in the Wind Symphony. Elizabeth played the Bb clarinet and Nolan played the bass clarinet. As the school year went on, they got to know each other during band and studied (more like goofed off) together at Starbucks. Nolan eventually convinced Elizabeth to drive him everywhere and decided to just make it official by asking him to be his girlfriend.

Elizabeth and Nolan had the perfect engagement. On a cool, beautiful October Saturday, Nolan had taken Elizabeth up to Door County for the weekend. They began the day by taming Elizabeth's coffee obsession and went window shopping up and down the peninsula. They stopped at a cute winery and sampled a few. Eventually, they made it to Peninsula State Park where Nolan set-up a secluded and cozy picnic for the two of them, right on the edge of Green Bay. Nolan strategically slipped the ring in Elizabeth's wine glass and Elizabeth, naturally, took 15 minutes to eventually find it! It couldn't have been any more perfect :)
