FAQs

Question

What is the weather like in San Diego in February?

Answer

February in San Diego brings plenty of sunshine and a refreshing coastal breeze, with temperatures typically ranging from the low 50s to the mid-60s. Our ceremony will be held outdoors on the bay side of Mission Beach, where the breeze is soft and pleasant, followed by a cozy indoor reception at the charming Mission Beach Women’s Cottage.

Question

What is the Welcome Reception?

Answer

We’re thrilled to be hosting a welcome gathering to bring together the Everett and Kartvedt families and friends! Please join us for drinks and appetizers at Waterbar in beautiful Pacific Beach as we kick off the celebration weekend. We’ll be upstairs, where you can take in the gorgeous sunset views over the Pacific Ocean. We can’t wait to welcome you and start the festivities together! Waterbar 4325 Ocean Blvd. San Diego, CA 4:00-6:30 PM

Question

Is there parking at Mission Beach Women's Cottage?

Answer

There isn't a dedicated parking lot, but the Catamaran Resort offers convenient paid parking just a short walk to the MBWC Cottage. Mission Bay Aquatic Park also has some paid parking spots available. If you're not staying nearby, using Uber or other rideshare services might be the easiest and most comfortable option for you.

Question

Will the ceremony be outside?

Answer

Yes! We're excited to let you know that chairs will be arranged on the grassy lawn right across from the Beach Cottage patio. Keep in mind, it’s a beautiful mix of grass and beach, with some sand around. To make sure you’re comfortable and looking fabulous, please choose supportive footwear that helps you feel your best during the wedding!

Question

Will dinner and drinks be provided?

Answer

Yes, dinner is all set! We’re thrilled to serve delicious street tacos from Miguel’s — just like the favorites you’d find in Mission Beach — along with a fully hosted bar for everyone to enjoy. We can’t wait to celebrate and share this special evening with you!

Question

Is this an adult only wedding?

Answer

Yes!

Question

Is there an end time to the festivites?

Answer

Since the club is situated in a relaxed coastal area, we ask that music and dancing wrap up by 10 PM in accordance with local sound guidelines. If you’d like to keep the celebration going, we’d be happy to help arrange transportation to one of the lively nearby spots in Mission or Pacific Beach, or connect you with others heading that way. We hope you enjoy every moment of the evening!

Question

What are hotels in the area?

Answer

There are plenty of lodging options in Mission Beach to choose from. The Catamaran Hotel Resort & Spa and the Bahia Resort Hotel are both conveniently located within easy walking distance of the venue, making it easy for guests. MBWC is located right between these two options. Additionally, there are many VRBO and Airbnb accommodations available, offering a variety of choices on both the beachside and bayside, just a short distance apart. For travelers arriving by plane, San Diego Airport is roughly 10 miles away, with a range of hotels nearby. An Uber ride typically takes around 20-25 minutes, ensuring a smooth and straightforward journey.

Question

What last name should we use for cards or personalized gifts?

Answer

We’re so grateful for your thoughtfulness — if you’re creating any personalized or monogrammed gifts, please use Liz Kartvedt to reflect her new name.

Question

What should I wear?

Answer

Our wedding will be semi-formal. February evenings by the water can be a little cool, so we suggest bringing something cozy to stay comfortable as you celebrate with us!
