We actually met in college through our mutual friend, Brandon. I was chair of the events board for the school, and Nick was a member of the Veterans Student Association along with Brandon. One day, I was in the Veterans Center talking to Brandon, when this guy (Nick) kept butting into our conversation! I kept thinking, " who is this guy who keeps interrupting me? " I thought he was cute and such a sweetheart, so I let it slide. Little did we know that we would be getting married five years later! Our paths crossed again when our student organizations were collaborating on a campus-wide Springfest event. The Veteran's club was in charge of the dunk tank. Nick graciously volunteered to be dunked, and I wasted no time dunking him in the tank. A few months later, our paths crossed once again when Nick sent me a message on facebook. We never stopped talking, and the rest is history!
Completely sunburnt and surprised at the lake house on Lake Martin, AL. In the same place, Ellie's parents got engaged 40 years ago and surrounded by family; it could not have been a perfect moment. Nick was a nervous wreck, and I was so surprised I forgot to say yes.
