Beth's POV: Most would say that it is criminally insane to fall in love with someone during the very first week of your freshman year of college, but that’s just the type of girl I am – the love-at-first-sight type, not the crazy type. I don’t know if it was the excitement of starting college or his The Devil Wears Prada t-shirt (the band, not the 2006 box office smash movie starring Meryl Streep and Anne Hathaway), but when I saw Matt across the dorm lounge on that warm day in 2011 I just knew I had to talk to him. The next night we went to an orientation event in the campus gym together. I don’t remember a damn thing we did in that gym, but I can clearly remember Matt and I smiling and laughing as we huddled together under my umbrella and ran through the rain to get there. Later that week a group of us decided to walk from campus to Main Street in Manayunk. The day was hotter and the walk was farther than I think any of us really anticipated so we made a pit stop at the corner store along the way. Matt bought me a big, ice cold bottle of water and I thought: Well, that's it. I’m in love. We quickly became the best of friends, started dating in 2013, and never looked back. Matt's POV: It was an Escape the Fate shirt (which I hesitate to admit because it is much more embarrassing)... but everything else is right. I was very excited that a cute girl took an interest in my weird taste in music. It turned out we had a lot in common and we became best friends fast. When Beth offered to stay up all night and keep me company while pulling an all-nighter for school, I knew she was going to be a big part of my life. My love for her grew steadily and we started dating after sophomore year. Twelve years later, we're still each others' best friends and we're finally doing the thing.
