We can't wait to celebrate with you!

We first met at Wash U in October of 2014, when Elizabeth was a junior and Kuba was a sophomore. It was fall break, so most of our friends had left for the weekend. Elizabeth stayed at school, anticipating that she would be leaving for home the following week when her first nephew, Jamie, would be born. Elizabeth felt a sense of anticipation mixed with a bit of boredom as all of her friends had already left. Kuba had also decided to stay at school for fall break. They first met in her dorm (shoutout to Village East), and Kuba's opening line of “Heyyyy”, was not very impressive. But somehow it broke the ice, and the rest is history!

As per usual for summer weekends, Elizabeth and Kuba were in Loveladies, Long Beach Island, a spot that means so much to them both! On the day of the proposal, Elizabeth, who typically has her nails polished, did not! Her mom made them nail appointments which was Elizabeth’s first clue, since in 27 years of going to the Shore, this was an activity that was never on their agenda. She texted some friends who quickly told her she was paranoid for expecting that day to be proposal day. There were other clues, too, but Elizabeth tried her best to ignore them. After her shower, a beautiful new white dress appeared on the bed that Kuba had arranged and she officially knew this was the moment of engagement time! With anticipation and emotion, she got ready for dinner, and slowly walked downstairs. Her parents, who were already crying tears of joy, told her to go outside and “tell Kuba we’re ready to go to dinner.” Outside, Elizabeth saw Kuba sitting on a bench near the water. Kuba got down on one knee with his speech ready and a gorgeous ring to propose. Afterwards, they popped champagne and Kuba had arranged for a private chef to come to the house and cook a romantic dinner for the two of them! The rest of the night was spent in a state of excitement, shock, happiness, phone calls and smiles.
