Elizabeth and Josiah’s journey began in the most unexpected place, Spanish class during Elizabeth’s freshman year of high school. Josiah was a junior at the time, and they both still laugh at the thought of meeting in a Spanish class, especially since Spanish is Elizabeth’s first language. Josiah often asked her for help with homework, and she was always glad to lend a hand. Those small moments soon grew into something special, and before long, they were both looking forward to seeing each other every day. As the months went by, their connection deepened. On December 6, 2018, Josiah asked Elizabeth to be his girlfriend, and without hesitation, she said yes. They were only 15 and 16, but even then, they knew the bond they shared was something rare and meaningful. In the beginning, their relationship came with challenges. Since they were so young, Elizabeth’s parents encouraged them to take things slowly, which meant most of their time together was at school. Those moments became even more meaningful, and instead of discouraging them, the obstacles they faced only made their relationship stronger. When Elizabeth turned 18 and graduated high school, her parents welcomed their relationship wholeheartedly. From that moment on, their love continued to grow, and with each passing year, their bond only became stronger. Josiah was Elizabeth’s first boyfriend and first love, and Elizabeth has always been Josiah’s greatest supporter and best friend.
