A beautiful walking/hiking trail with lots of options of different difficulties! Take the Watmough head trail up to Chadwick for a moderate/difficult hike and a fantastic view, or walk the Watmough bay trail for a quick stroll to a lovely beach surrounded by cliffs. Another trail further down the road is Colville point which is a longer hike but very flat that leads out to the ocean bluffs with a panoramic view of puget sound and the islands surrounding!
A bit longer of a walk but so worth it! Park your car at agate beach and walk up road and then down a shared driveway until you reach the trail head. After walking awhile through the woods it opens up to a beautiful bluff area with many different loop options and a wonderful view of the ocean! For a shorter trip, stop at agate and take the stairs down to the beach to enjoy the scenery!
A Lopez classic! Enjoy the warm sun and sand with a beautiful view of Shaw Island across the water. There are some short hiking trails on either end of the beach and also tent camping.
A fun stop with a moderate level hike down to a very large beach. There is a super fun spit to walk out on with a cabin at the end right next to Frost Island. Discovery passes are required since it is a state park.
This is a super fun boardwalk trail down to some bluffs and tiny beaches. It also looks across cattle pass to San Juan Islands where lots of seals like to play! There is a rock in between that is home to many birds and seals that you can watch from the shoreline. Be careful and please do not swim/paddleboard/kayak in this area unless you are experienced and have been in this area before. The currents are very strong and can be unpredictable.
This is a great day park with a panoramic view. You can also see the mountains to the south.
I absolutely love this beach. There is a really lovely walk down in between beautiful trees up to a great view of Shaw and San Juan Islands.
This is a really beautiful trail for people who don't want to necessarily go to the beach. It is a lovely hike with lots of trees and mossy rocks. Up at the top there is also a very rickety hammock!
