JC and I met over 10 years ago at St. Martin's Church while going through confirmation classes. We became quick friends, realizing the numerous connections and similarities we had, including our older sisters joking about us dating someday when we were just kids. I harbored a not-so-secret crush on him throughout high school, even pretending to need help on math homework so I had an excuse to text him. I later learned JC held similar feelings, bailing on baseball practice the first night we met to spend more time together and convincing his family to attend a different mass so he could see me. A few years later after driving our friends crazy with indecision, we finally took the leap and have been together ever since. Throughout our time at different colleges, study abroad semesters, years of living in different states, and JC's medical school, there's never been a doubt in my mind that he was the one. I feel incredibly fortunate to have met the love of my life, someone who makes me feel like my complete self, at such a young age and to have the rest of our lives together. Like in all things, JC meticulously and intentionally planned our engagement for months - designing my ring in secret, testing proposal spots in different lighting, enlisting my friend to document the whole thing, and dealing with daylight savings early sunsets. JC proposed on November, 1st 2023 at our favorite spot in Louisville, Cherokee Park, and we celebrated in the best way, just the two of us with pasta and a bottle of red wine. We are excited to celebrate our wedding on the 10th anniversary of our dating, at the church where we first met all those years ago. We can't wait to see you there!
