Our story starts on Liz's first day of work at her new Human Resources job in January 2021. Her first day started like most: a flurry of paperwork and awkward introductions. Except her introduction with Jack from IT, who set up her computer on day one. Liz's mom texted her asking how the day went and if she met any new people to which she responded "there is a guy in IT who seems funny and I hope will be my friend". What foreshadowing! Our paths kept crossing at work happy hours, in the Uptown neighborhood of Minneapolis where we both lived at the time, and thanks to Liz's "faulty" computer that needed lots of attention from IT ;-). We continued to get to know each other- talking about music, personal interests, our families, and learning each other's sense of humor. Crushes developed as we realized how well we balanced each other out and how much we have in common. Although, neither wanted to make the first move—Jack didn’t want to end up in an HR meeting, and Liz didn’t want to schedule one. Liz had the opportunity to move to Colorado in January of 2022. But you know what they say, distance makes the heart grow fonder! It was hard to ignore how well we fit together, and finally we started officially dating. Although not ideal to start a relationship long distance-- our strong friendship, lots of trips back and forth, and FaceTime dates helped us through. After a year of long distance, we were both living in Minneapolis and everything felt right. Weeknight walks with Colby around the lakes, weekend adventures around Minnesota, and much more time together confirmed how natural life everyday life together is. Jack proposed in March of 2025 on the North Shore after a perfect weekend of hiking and exploring a place that is so special to us. It was the easiest "yes" for Liz. This has been the best chapter yet. We can't wait to celebrate our love with everyone!
