It all started when Hart swiped right...on one of Elizabeth's best friends. This made for a great first date conversation a week later when Hart and Elizabeth matched and met up at a little Thai restaurant in Sausalito, California. Luckily, Liz was a good sport about it and they were able to laugh it off. Their first date was beautiful. They chatted about faith, family, and future plans over dinner, followed by an evening walk along the waterfront, surrounded by sleepy sailboats under starry skies. Hart was struck by Elizabeth's humility, kindness, and faith in God. In turn, Elizabeth was touched by Hart's faith, steadfastness, and intentionality. This was especially evident at the end of the date when walking to her car, Hart said, "Elizabeth, I've been truly surprised by how much I like you and how much I enjoyed myself tonight. No pressure, but I just wanted you to know that I had another date planned for later this week...which I'm going to cancel." This meant a lot to Liz, but apparently not quite enough to keep her from going on a date with a different guy the very next day. Maybe Hart should have kept the "no pressure" part out. However, their mutual affection easily survived this minor betrayal, and Hart and Liz saw each other three more times that week before Hart left for a month long sailing trip in Mexico. They spoke every day while Hart was gone- their first month of dating relying solely on determination, care, and intentional conversation due to the distance between them. It was during this time that Hart started to fall in love with Elizabeth. He found her to be genuine and caring, with a rich love for family and a pure devotion to Christ. One evening on the phone, Hart told her, "Lizzie, if I ever tell you that I love you, it means that I want to marry you." One month after Hart got back from Mexico, that's exactly what happened. From that point on, Hart has been pursuing Elizabeth with the intention of marriage. On November 15, 2025, Hart took Elizabeth hiking (in a dress, with a change of high heels in their bag, per Lizzie's desires) to a little bluff overlooking the ocean in Muir Beach, California. He got down on one knee and asked Elizabeth to be his bride. She was 100% surprised and had no idea it was coming. That day, Elizabeth agreed to make Hart more lucky and blessed than he has any right to be, by agreeing to join their lives together into one flesh under God. Engraved on their wedding bands is "Yahweh Yireh" meaning, "The Lord Will Provide." The Lord has indeed provided much, much more than I could have ever hoped or dreamed. - Hart (in case you couldn't guess)
