A historic waterfront battlefield from the War of 1812, this is a great park to walk along the water (and a GREAT spot to watch the sunset)!
Clayton Day Trip
Head up to Clayton, on the Saint Lawrence River, to enjoy shopping, boat-watching, wine tasting at Coyote Moon, and the Antique Boat Museum!
Robert G. Wehle State Park
This is a great state park for walking and enjoying views of Lake Ontario!
Old McDonald's Farm
A fun farm visit for families with little kids! Get some of the homemade ice cream in the gift shop, it's worth the stop.

1000 Islands Region and the St. Lawrence Seaway
Check out this unique region! The St. Lawrence River serves as the border between the U.S. and Canada. We recommend taking a tour with Uncle Sam Boat Tours out of Alexandria Bay, stopping by the Antique Boat Museum in Clayton, or visiting the Tibbets Point Lighthouse out in Cape Vincent.
The Adirondack Mountains
Visit the beautiful Adirondack Mountains! Much of Upstate NY is part of the Adirondack Park, over 6 million acres of incredible mountains, lakes, rivers, and scenic towns. If you like hiking, it's worth checking this area out. Lake Placid, where the 1980 Winter Olympics were held, is a just under 3 hour scenic drive from Sackets Harbor.
The Finger Lakes
The Finger Lakes region is perfect for wine and history lovers! Visit the beautiful town of Skanaetlas, historic Auburn or Seneca Falls, or even Letchworth State Park. If you're heading back west after the wedding, stop at Niagara Falls on the way!
